Review: Deep by Kylie Scott

Deep.jpg
The CoverI love this cover! I picture Ben with more of a beard but besides that, it truly shows Ben’s spirit and I love it. I also think it’s one of the most colorful book covers I have ever seen too, there’s just something about the color scheme of the tattoos and the bass that just make it lovely to look at.

Basics: Deep was released on March 31st 2015, published by St. Martin’s Griffin, book #4 in the Stage Dive series and is 273 pages long. Genre wise Deep belongs to contemporary romance, music romance and new adult.

Description: One by one, the members of Stage Dive are falling in love. David, Mal, and Jimmy have all taken the plunge, and now it’s Ben’s turn—only he refuses to fall into that trap. The sexy bassist enjoys his no-strings-attached lifestyle. But when Ben is forced to keep the one girl he’s always had a weakness for out of trouble in Sin City, he quickly learns that what happens in Vegas, doesn’t always stay there.
Deep.jpg

Overall thoughts: I can’t believe I’m on my last review for the Stage Dive series! I read these books starting WAY back in 2013 and gah! I LOVE them! It’s one of the series where I wish there were ten more books! We’ve all read about how each of the Stage Dive members fell in love, starting with hurting, emotional talented David, to crazy, manic, funny Mal followed by troubled, brooding, sexy as sin Jimmy. All that’s left is Ben, the bass player. This review is going to get very interesting because I have a love-hate relationship with dear old Benny boy. But first…let’s discuss some background for Deep!

Ben is the last single man standing of Stage Dive, he’s not looking for a relationship and he’s definitely not interested in love. He’s happy for his bandmates but definitely doesn’t want to catch the lovebug that apparently has boarded the Stage Dive bus. Lizzie is the younger sister of Anne, who recently got together with Mal (from book two, Play and is the drummer of Stage Dive) and is about to get married to him.

Ben and Lizzie met each other while hanging out with the other Stage Dive members and eventually became friends, chatting, even exchanging numbers and texting. This is where the trouble starts. They instantly have a connection, one that goes beyond being “friends” and eventually that connection caves into them having a one night stand together while in Vegas. Both of them were attending Mal and Anne’s wedding. Of course this leads to drum roll please….! A pregnancy.

Anne is super young, going to college for psychology young and finds herself an expectant mother. Sure it changes her plans for going to school and such, but she wants to keep the baby and be the mother she never had. Ben wants to make things right also, inviting her to come on tour with them and honestly…mayhem ensues. They may of made a baby together but that doesn’t mean they are together, especially with Ben’s commitment issues. No one said falling in love with a rockstar was easy!

Deep is interesting because each member has their own set of issues which I thought were valid, sincere issues that I felt for. However…when it comes to Ben’s “issue” which in this case is commitment…it literally made me want to throw the book! Ben is the sexy rocker, yes…but as soon as he started this whole nonsense of not wanting to be with Lizzie, but I’ll help with the baby stuff? I wanted to throw the book. The rocky waters between them settle eventually, but it was too little too late for me in the book and definitely for Ben.

THAT being said, I loved Deep even though Ben drove me crazy. Lizzie and his relationship is a genuine one that I’m sure many couples face today and I’m really glad it was brought up. I wish it was a little longer because it is the last book in this series but overall I’m happy with the ending and how Deep included the other bandmates and their relationships as well. I love the Stage Dive series so much and if you love a music romance genre kind of story, this book and series is definitely for you!

Review: His Distraction by Tanya Gallagher

download
The Cover: I think the cover of His Distraction is very attractive and eye catching, however I feel like the whole ab/chest shot picture of models is taking over covers lately. I wish there was a more representation of Jeremy and not just a picture of his abs.

Basics: His Distraction was released on July 9th and is 320 pages long. Genre wise His Distraction belongs to contemporary romance and new adult.

Description: He wants to save the world one vibrator at a time. She’d rather feed the homeless.

Jeremy Glass, CEO of Seattle’s hottest sex toy company, has a fantastic life: he’s single, rich, and has a parade of “product testers” to help him warm his sheets at night. He’s about to land the deal of a lifetime and finally prove that his untraditional business is more than valid. The only problem is he just fired the one woman his client insists handle their account. He knows if he hires her back, Vanessa Reese will be a distraction—after all, she’s gorgeous, sweet, and witty. Jeremy knows better than to mix business and pleasure, but he suddenly finds himself chasing after a woman for a change, and this one’s determined to keep him on his toes.

When Jeremy asks Vanessa to come back to X Enterprises, she isn’t interested in what he has to offer—not his pretty face and sculpted body, and certainly not his arrogant attitude—until Jeremy makes her a deal: spend ten weeks in his employment, and then he’ll help her land the social work job she really wants. When Vanessa agrees, she finds herself plunged into a world of sin and indulgence she never imagined. Despite the attraction between herself and Jeremy, Vanessa is determined not to give in and hand over her dignity and her chance at a steady paycheck. Probably. Because the more time she spends with Jeremy, the more she uncovers the kind, charming man hidden under his cocky exterior.

Can a sex toy CEO and a bleeding heart ever find love, or will their connection destroy everything they’ve worked for?

Overall thoughts: His Distraction is one of my favorite romance tropes, the cat and mouse game. Jeremy Glass is the CEO of successful Seattle’s hottest sex toy company; he’s rich, single and happy with the way his life is going…until Vanessa shows up. The woman he fired who he didn’t realize (for some super strange reason?) handles their money accounts. Yikes.

Vanessa clearly wants nothing to do with the man, but he offers something she can’t refuse. These two end up tangled up in a dance together whether they want to or not. Vanessa also has no idea the lifestyle Jeremy leaves, sure he may be the CEO of a sex toy company but not everything as it seems. She surely didn’t think she would find him to be kind and caring, especially under all that sex toy CEO, bossy exterior. They both start to realize they are falling for each other and unplanned love brings its own set of problems.

His Distraction is a good contemporary romance book with just enough dirty to spice it up for readers who want something more than a vanilla type of story. Definitely worth a read if you like two unlikely people falling for one another.

Review: Lead by Kylie Scott

Lead.jpg

The Cover: Lead’s cover is the epitome of Jimmy; with the way the cover model is sitting, his lips, the way he’s holding the microphone it’s completely spot on and perfect! Love it!

Basics: Lead was released on July 29th 2014, published by St. Martin’s Griffin, book #3 in the Stage Dive series and is 321 pages long. Genre wise Lead belongs to contemporary romance, music romance and new adult.

Description: Can rock n’ roll’s most notorious bad boy be tamed by love?

As the lead singer of Stage Dive, Jimmy is used to getting whatever he wants, whenever he wants it-now he’s caught up in a life of hard partying and fast women. When a PR disaster serves as a wake-up call and lands him in rehab, he finds himself with Lena, a new assistant hired to keep him out of trouble.

Lena’s not willing to take any crap from her sexy boss and is determined to keep their relationship completely professional, despite their sizzling chemistry. But when Jimmy pushes her too far, he just might lose the best thing that’s ever happened to him. Can he convince his stubborn assistant to risk it all and let her heart take the lead?
Lead.jpg

Overall thoughts: Lead is such a good book! The entire Stage Dive series is fabulous and I think what I love most about it is that each book focuses on different couples with different dynamics, issues and personalities but works so well as a cohesive unit and series. Lead focuses on David’s (the leading man of Lick’s book) brother Jimmy Ferris, who recently just finished a stint in rehab and Lena, the secretary turned baby sitter for Jimmy as he embarks on fighting his addiction battle.

Jimmy has this quiet type of temper about him, is super stubborn and can be super frustrating at times but he is definitely the guy your mother warns you to stay away from in High School. He is the complete heartthrob package, leading singer of Stage Dive but suffers from substance abuse and some family troubles. Lena…where do I even begin to describe Lena? I adore her. She’s sassy with a I don’t care attitude stacked with a perseverance that doesn’t quit. Together Jimmy and Lena make quite a pair and they are literally what each other needs.

Lead is a story about two people trying to get away from their personal problems, not looking for a relationship but sort of end up falling each other and become exactly what the other person needs. It’s not perfect and it’s a bit messy, but if anything was easy is it worth having? I love how the story plays out in Lead and Jimmy and Lena relationship still is one of those relationships that I smile and think about today, four years later!

Review: Play by Kylie Scott

Play.jpg
The Cover: I love this cover much! It’s definitely one of my favorite’s and I definitely think it embodies Mal perfectly! My only complaint is that it doesn’t show any of his luscious, viking like locks.

Basics: Play was released on March 25th 2014, published by St. Martin’s Griffin, book #2 in the Stage Dive series and is 321 pages long. Genre wise Play belongs to contemporary romance, music romance and new adult.

Description: Mal Ericson, drummer for the world famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast-at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. Mal doesn’t plan on this temporary fix becoming permanent, but he didn’t count on finding the one right girl.

Anne Rollins never thought she’d ever meet the rock god who plastered her teenage bedroom walls-especially not under these circumstances. Anne has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn’t end well. No matter how hot he is. Or could it?
Play.jpg
Overall thoughts: Play is my favorite book of the entire Stage Dive series. Now to be fair I am completely biased because my husband is also a drummer, but who are we kidding? Mal Ericson is HOT. Each book of the Stage Dive series (Lick, Play, Lead & Deep) all focus on different band members falling in love and personally I think Play is the best.

Anne is having a bit of a hard time (aren’t we all?!), she’s struggling to pay rent and bills, focus on taking care of her sister and throughout it all keep her sanity in tact. When her horrible roommate skips out on her, she needs a night away from the chaos surrounding her and ends up at the home of David and Evelyn from Lick. She’s a friend of a friend that just happens to be married to one of the biggest rock stars around, no big deal.

However when she gets there, Anne is immediately pounced upon by Malcolm Ericson, drummer and apparent sex on a stick rock star. He also happens to be Anne’s childhood crush which is adorable. Striking up a very odd conversation, Anne suddenly finds herself stuck with Mal who is willing to help her financially but with a catch.

These two go through a lot together but they are exactly what each other needs. Mal is dealing with something so horrible and tragic whereas Anne is dealing with her own demons and past and is definitely in need of some happy in her life. Mal and Anne balance each other out so well and are perfect for each other. I know I tend to gush about couples in reviews a lot but these two take the cake and then some.

Their need for each other and the love they develop between them is sweet, funny, and toe curling sexy. I really love these two as a couple and their story. Again, Play is my favorite Stage Dive book and I can guarantee you’ll swoon and love Mal as much as I do!

Review: Want You by Jen Frederick

40419592
The Cover: This cover is one of the HOTTEST covers I have ever seen. When I got the email for the cover reveal I literally gasped out loud. So intimate, so sexy, so beautiful and gah! I will never get over this over!

Basics: Want You was released on June 29th 2018 and is 334 pages long. Genre wise Want You belongs to standalone, contemporary romance and childhood romance.

Description: Bitsy: I might be only nineteen, but I know what I want. It’s Leka Moore. I don’t care that he took me in when he was barely more than a kid himself. I don’t care that he raised me. I don’t care everyone thinks being with him is wrong. I know we belong together, and the only person I need to convince is him.

Leka: I found her in the corner of a dark alley. If I hadn’t taken her with me, she would’ve died that night—or maybe worse. Before I knew it, she became the light in my dark life, the haven from the madness. I watched her grow up. I tried to teach her right from wrong. Now that she’s an adult, I’m feeling things that no good man should ever feel. But then…I’ve never been a good man. I have a chance at redemption by saving her from the greatest danger of all—me.
Jen1.jpg

Overall thoughts: Want You was such a sweet, emotional read! I adore childhood romance stories and this is one of the best one’s I have ever read! Jen Frederick is an amazing writer and she really has a knack for pulling your heartstrings in the best kind of way.

Orphaned and roaming the streets for a local mafia like group, Leka is just trying to watch his back and live. Although he hasn’t really cared about living not until he finds an orphaned little girl. Taking her under his wing he suddenly realizes that he doesn’t want to live and finally has something to live for.

My favorite aspect of Want You is that as readers we basically get to see Leka and Bitsy’s entire story, from when they met when they were young children to how he raised and protected her all the while continuing to work for bad, bad people. And this is what I loved most about Want You because they literally loved and wanted each other for most of their lives and that is something you can’t question or ignore. It’s true love.

With a deep love, slow burning relationship and incredible attraction Leka and Bitsy are definitely one of the most memorable and hottest couples to read about this Summer.

Review: Lick by Kylie Scott

Lick.jpg
The Cover: I really love the cover of Lick because of several reasons. One, the tattoos and the guitar are just SUPER swoon worthy; it is the perfect image of a bad boy rock and roller. Two, I actually really like how only half of the model’s face is shown because your image of what you see in your head could be anything. It’s not a certain cover model so your image of David could be anything you want which I really like because with some covers you get one image and you only think of that image as the character.

Basics: Lick was released on November 11th 2013, published by St. Martin’s Griffin and is 321 pages long. Lick is the first book in the Stage Dive series. Genre wise Lick belongs to contemporary romance, music romance and new adult.

Description: Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this.

Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure as hell never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened. One thing is for certain, being married to rock and roll’s favorite son is sure to be a wild ride.
Lick.jpg

Overall thoughts: I stumbled upon Lick by Kylie Scott on a random Target run in late November 2013. I was just getting into reading romance and I actually never had read any book that dealt with being a rock star band, let alone falling in love with one of the band-mates. But when I started reading Lick I immediately even fell more in love with romance book genre.

Kylie Scott has one of the best sense of humor, ever; and I bet her sense of rumor is even better in person. But when it comes to that sense of humor in her books? Oh my goodness they just make me smile! David is a very complex, brooding, sexy kind of heroine but his persona and overall attitude was very magnetic to me. Of course when you’re reading Lick you get this visual of this attractive, sort of tortured, tattoo’d guitar player in your head which is all sorts of good. However, I fell head over heels for David because of the way Scott wrote his personality. His little quirks, jabs and witty comments just made me smile or blush several times.

Evelyn is literally every millennial struggling right now. Working a summer job, going to college and taking on a major that her family basically decided for her. She feels lost and lord knows when we feel lost we try to escape from our issues which usually leads to an adventure. Adventure that leads her to Vegas where she meets David and marries him. Problem is she doesn’t remember meeting him OR marrying him.

No spoilers but Lick (and the entire series Stage Dive in general) is one of my favorite books of all time. I love David and Evelyn very much and it’s been FIVE year and I still think about how great their love is from time to time. I also really love how their relationship isn’t perfect but that doesn’t make it any less true, it only strengths their love and relationship. Lick is funny, you can’t put down page turning, sexy, witty and is such a great love story to open this series. Another favorite part of Lick is how it introduces the other members of Stage Dive and sets up my favorite book of this series, Play

If you want to read a good commoner falling in love with a rock star style romance kind of book, Lick and the entire series of Stage Dive is definitely for you!

Review: One Small Thing by Erin Watt

One-Small-Thing-198x300
The Cover: I really like this cover, it’s very pretty and eye catching that matches the theme of the book. Very High School with the loopy font too. A+

Basics: One Small Thing was released on June 26th 2018, is 304 pages long and was published by Harlequin Teen. Genre wise One Small Thing belongs to Young Adult, Teen Romance.

Description: Beth’s life hasn’t been the same since her sister died. Her parents try to lock her down, believing they can keep her safe by monitoring her every move. When Beth sneaks out to a party one night and meets the new guy in town, Chase, she’s thrilled to make a secret friend. It seems like a small thing, just for her.

Only Beth doesn’t know how big her secret really is…

Fresh out of juvie and determined to start his life over, Chase has demons to face and much to atone for, including his part in the night Beth’s sister died. Beth, who has more reason than anyone to despise him, is willing to give him a second chance. A forbidden romance is the last thing either of them planned for senior year, but the more time they spend together, the deeper their feelings get.Now Beth has a choice to make—follow the rules, or risk tearing everything apart…again.

One Small Thing.jpg
Overall thoughts: I really enjoyed One Small Thing by the dynamic duo of Erin Watt. I thought it was well written and the story was very heart-wrenching but also uplifting. I lost my Dad August 2017 and I had no idea how horrible grief can be. Grief changes people and the one thing I have learned from losing my beloved Father, grief can tear a family apart; this is definitely the case for Beth and her parents.

Beth is ready to start her Senior year of High School, finish and get out into the world to start her own life. However her parents have other plans to keep her home, since losing her sister they are afraid they will lose Beth too and Beth just wants to live. After quarreling with her parents, Beth sneaks out to a party and meets a boy that she instantly has a connection to. Things escalate between them and she goes to school the next day floating on a cloud until she sees the boy again, Chase. Unfortunately she comes to find out that Chase was the one who accidentally hit and killed his sister.

One Small Thing is a story about two trouble, lonely, lost people finding and falling for each other during the most horrible of circumstances. But it’s also a book about loss, forgiveness, dealing and going through grief and trying to find the good in every day life when things are awful. I really appreciated this book because Beth’s parents are awful and for someone like me who is personally has seen grief firsthand…it was just so refreshing reading a story so close to my own. That’s the great thing about Erin Watt books, they find someway to make you relate to their characters or stories, it makes you love the book even more. This is the case for me anyway!

I’m usually not a big fan of “real life” books but Erin Watt continues to awe and surprise making a book genre I usually struggle reading about, fun and addictive. One Small Thing is definitely one of the best books of the summer and of all 2018!
My Post (25).jpg

Favorite Quotes: “And I’m still alive. I’m alive and I want to live.” -Beth

“That’s how I kept my sanity–I focused on one good thing instead of all the f*cked-up stuff. One small thing.” -Chase

Blog Tour & Review: Survival Of The Richest by Skye Warren

SurvivalOfTheRichest-Facebook (1)
The Cover: The Survival Of The Richest cover is so gorgeous! I love covers with couples and gorgeous men but there is just something extra special about romance book covers with on them and Survival Of The Richest is definitely one of my favorites.

Basics: Survival Of The Richest was on June 12th 2018 and is 354 pages long. Genre wise Survival Of The Richest belongs to contemporary romance, drama.

Description: A Park Avenue princess…

My story starts with a plunge into the cold water of Manhattan’s harbor. A strong hand hauls me back onto the deck of the luxury yacht. Christopher was supposed to be my enemy, the son of my mother’s latest husband. Instead he protects me with fierce determination when I need him most.

This tale begins with a fall, but it doesn’t end there.
Because another man wants me.

Sutton wants to consume me with a passion more feral than kind. In the lush emotional wilderness I’m not sure I want Christopher to save me this time…or if there will be anything left if he tries.

SURVIVAL OF THE RICHEST is a book about finding your soul’s desire, even if the search leads you places you never expect. A woman torn between two men. An impossible choice. And a war fought on the most dangerous battlefield–the heart.
Survival Availavle Now IG (2).jpg
Overall thoughts: How do I even begin to describe Survival Of The Richest? Wow doesn’t even begin to cover it. Skye Warren pulled me in engrossing storytelling and made get me on an emotional rollercoaster that me crashing at the end. In a good way! My favorite thing about Skye Warren as an author is the way she writes her characters backstories; they are well done, well written and just fit into the narrative of her books. They aren’t confusing at all and add even more depth to her story and characters. And man…does she make a backstory for Harper.

A torn apart family, a sad and lonely little girl pulled back and forth between parents, more money than you can imagine and a twisted twosome falling for another is what you can expect in Survival Of The Richest. Necessarily not in that order. To make matters even MORE complicated, Harper starts developing feelings for a man close to Christopher and I’m not going to spoil anything but HOLY COW. Things get so complicated, like nail biting complicated.

Survival Of The Richest ends on a cliffhanger unfortunately but I can’t wait for more of this crazy, rollercoaster love story! Skye Warren is definitely one of authors that comes out of left field and continues to surprise and awe me! Can’t wait for more of this series!

Review: The Queen Of All That Dies by Laura Thalassa

21422225.jpg
The Cover: I love this cover and I think it embodies Serenity perfectly I just wish the scar on her face was shown. Otherwise it’s perfect and I’m glad the cover showcases such a strong, elegant woman. A+

Basics: The Queen Of All That Dies was released on January 15th 2016, published by Burning Ember Press and is 327 pages long. Genre wise The Queen Of All That Dies belongs to science fiction, new adult, fantasy drama, romance, action, dystopia and futuristic.

Description: In the future, the world is at war. For the last decade, King Lazuli of the Eastern Empire has systematically taken over the world. No one knows much about him other than a series of impossible facts: he cannot die, he has not aged since the conflict began, and he wants to rule the world.

All Serenity Freeman has known is bloodshed. War has taken away her mother, her home, her safety. As the future emissary of the Western United Nations, the last autonomous region of the globe, she is responsible for forging alliances where she can.

Surrender is on the horizon. The king can taste it; Serenity feels it deep within her bones. There is no other option. Now the two must come face to face. For Serenity, that means confronting the man who’s taken everything from her. For the king, it means meeting the one woman he can’t conquer. But when they meet, something happens. Cruelty finds redemption. Only in war, everything comes with a price. Especially love.
The Queen Of All That Dies.jpgOverall thoughts: The Queen Of All That Dies is everything you would want in a good science fiction/dystopian/romance/action book and more. Based in the future where the world is at war, Serenity Freeman finds herself torn between wanting to serve and protect her country against sacrificing her own life and morals for her country. Bit of a double edged sword right? Raised as a soldier and groomed as emissary by her father, Serenity finds herself going against the devil himself, proclaimed King of the world and reason why the world is in ruin, Montes Lazuli. Her homeland is at the end of their rope and wants to send Serenity to the King to essentially seduce him and keep his focus on her instead of the peace talks. Everything changes when Serenity and Montes meet and nothing goes like Serenity had planned.

The Queen Of All That Dies is a gritty, fantastical, action packed, science fiction, futuristic dark romance book. Serenity is very young, but she’s been fashioned to be a killer all her life. Montes may be the King of the world but he’s isn’t a good man (he actually says this several times throughout the book,) but he wants Serenity desperately. What happens when two lonely lost souls meet and come together? A whirlwind of a book! The Queen Of All That Dies had so many wonderful components to it. First you have this sort of , intriguing, passionate, angry and lonely characters pulled together with different dynamics that honestly had me immediately hooked because I wanted to know how they would work together. Secondly throughout the first half of this book, you have Laura Thalassa throwing curveballs left and right about Serenity that literally had me gawking at my kindle because I was so taken aback. No spoilers, but I was so invested from start to finish!

Couple wise Serenity and Montes are very interesting because it’s not your usual typical romance, its darker. Serenity clearly hates Montes because one, he’s the King who started all this war and devastation and two, unfortunately for him…he’s also the reason why so many bad things have happened to Serenity. Montes may be the wicked King who devastated and ruined the world but because of that role he has taken, he’s incredibly lonely. So when he sees Serenity he’s completely taken with her whereas Serenity hates him but is also interested in him too. Meeting him and seeing him in person is completely different than the monster she put him out to be which makes her conflicted feelings about him even more. Above everything, Montes and Serenity are cut from the same cloth which he immediately states to her upon their first meeting. She may not want to agree and tells him off, but she knows the truth. Two dark, lonely, wandering souls have been brought together and consequences will follow.

The Queen Of All That Dies is one of my favorite books of 2018 and was such an unexpected surprise. Laura Thalassa is a truly talented writer who is so great in creating complex, deep characters and storylines that just have you hooked from start to finish. For me I like something a little more intense and darker and The Queen Of All That Dies definitely delivered that for me.

Release Blitz & Review: Him & I by Melody Eve

Him&I-FINAL-ebook

The Cover: I really love this cover. It’s eye catching, sweet and super intimate. A+

Basics: Him & I was released on June 3rd 2018 and is part of the Kindle Unlimited program. Genre wise Him & I belong to contemporary romance.

Description: Love is a risk.
Roman has never been willing to take those odds, until now.
A beautiful stranger, overheard telling the desk clerk she’s on her honeymoon alone, arouses something in him. Something primal. Something protective. He finds himself doing and saying things he swore he never would in an effort to understand the pain in Aria’s sensual eyes.
His scars are so deep, they may never heal.
His need for control is ingrained.
His desire for her is unparalleled.
The challenge of winning her may be the biggest risk of all.
Him&I-AN.jpg
Overall thoughts: Him & I had all the interesting, swoon worthy aspects of a good romance book but it lacked in several areas. I felt the beginning was a great opening and immediately had me hooked/wanting to know what was next but it was super rushed. I’m all for two characters quickly falling in love but the way Aria and Roman started off just didn’t make sense to me and was super unrealistic. To be fair, it is a romance book and there are a lot of romance books were similar things happen like in Him & I but there was just something off and lacking with this one.

That being said, Him & I is a great story about starting over and falling love. It is well written but there were some gray areas where I wish more there was descriptive writing. Roman is every romance readers dream even with his secrets and rough edges, he’s funny too which I always appreciate in an alpha male. Aria is very likeable and interesting, a great heroine any reader would admire; plus her last name is Savage I mean come on!

Overall Him & I by Melody Eve was a great debut romance read but definitely needed some fine tuning here and there. Eve has a bright future ahead of her and I look forward to watching her grow as a writer.
