I am so thankful that 2017 is over! It was honestly the worst year of my entire life but I am so thankful I had books to get me through it! In this post I’ll be discussing some of my favorite books of the year and why you should stop what you are doing and check them out! Happy Reading and goodbye to 2017!
The Luminous Series by Stacey Lynn
Dominate Me was one of my first advanced reader’s copies and I was so excited for the opportunity! From the moment I started Dominate Me to the minute I finished Long For Me I was in LOVE with this series. Stacey Lynn definitely had made a new fan and I look forward to all her books now because she is a fantastic writer. The Luminous series follows three women and their journey into the BDSM world and where the journey starts; at Luminous an exclusive and underground club. This series had my interest from the very beginning and each story and couple is different which I love. I adore Haley and Jensen (Dominate Me) but my favorite couple out of this series belongs to Rebecca and Bennett (Long For Me) This series is a must read for anyone who loves dom-sub relationships and everything in between.

Commander in Chief by Katy Evans
If you follow my reviews it should be no surprise to you that Katy Evans made my list! Commander in Chief, book two of the White House Duet started off 2017 and honestly made me melt into the ground and become a puddle of goo. I loved this series and this book was just such a great read! If Matt Hamilton was a real person you can guarantee I would vote for him!

Lucky by Carina Adams
Lucky was a huge surprise for me because honestly I’m not that big a fan of sports romance but I loved this story and Adams is a fantastic writer with a great sense of humor. Not to mention the chemistry between Sunshine and Lucian is electric hot and the way they meet is just hilarious to me too but I won’t spoil it for you 🙂
Blurb: Everyone loves Lucky # 7.
He’s the whole package – smart, athletic, and sexy as sin.
A filthy talking bad boy, he can have any woman he wants.

About the Author: Carina Adams has been writing and creating characters for as long as she can remember, allowing her to fall in love with the next man of her dreams with every new story.
Thankfully, fate stepped in and granted her the ultimate wish – a life full of men. Carina lives in a picturesque New England town with her husband, the man who ruined the thought of all others, and two amazing sons who always keep her on her toes.
Carina received her MBA in May, but would much rather play with her imaginary friends (the voices in her head) than work her 8 to 5. When she isn’t trying to juggle being a working mom with karate and football practices, surprising her children with her sci-fi movie knowledge, or writing, you can find her with her nose pressed against her kindle, laughing with friends, or living life vicariously as her Derby Girl persona, Writers Block.
Carina is the author the of Bastards MC series and best selling Forever Red. She is currently writing Out of The Blue, the follow up to Forever Red. She loves to hear feedback from her readers, no matter what type. You can email her at: carinaadamswrites@gmail.com

American Prince by Sierra Simone
One of the year’s most anticipated read’s in the romance book world, American Prince (Book Two of The New Camelot Series) blew my socks off and broke my heart all at the same time. Sierra Freaking Simone is one heck of an amazing writer but she also likes to drink her reader’s tears (no seriously go check her Facebook…she has a mug that says that! Haha!) This book and the series itself is just beyond anything I have ever read before that there are just no way I can describe it in one post. Below is my review (warning spoilers!) But if you haven’t checked out The New Camelot series you seriously should, it is literally one of the best romance books written of all time!
Blurb: I’ve been many things. I’ve been a son and a stepbrother. An Army captain and a Vice President. But only with him am I a prince. His little prince.
Only with Maxen and Greer does my world make sense, only between them can I find peace from the demons that haunt me. But men like me aren’t made to be happy. We don’t deserve it. And I should have known a love as sharp as ours could cut both ways.
My name is Embry Moore and I serve at the pleasure of the President of the United States…for now. This is the story of an American Prince.

American King by Sierra Simone
It felt like forever but American King was finally released and I honestly thought I was going to have a heart attack the entire time I read this book. I got angry, I cried, I wanted to throw my kindle but Ash finished out the New Camelot Series strong and Sierra Simone once again wrecked my heart and soul. In the best way of course but still! What a journey the New Camelot series has been and I am so sad that it is over! Long Live Ash, Greer and Embry!
(Buy info and my review for American King and this series is above with American Prince.)

Silenced by Leddy Harper
Silenced was such an emotional charged read! Every word and chapter in this book just made me feel something that just had me hooked from beginning to end. I was honestly sad when I finished the book that’s how much I loved it! Silenced was also my first book that I read from Leddy Harper and it cemented me forever as one of her fans. I love, love, LOVE this book!
Blurb: As a young child, Killian Foster survives the unimaginable. Silenced and scarred, he keeps to himself, spending his time with his notebook in the woods behind his aunt’s house.
Until Rylee Anderson. When Rylee spots Killian hopping over a fence next door, she follows him, unprepared for the boy she’d find—or the relationship that would unfold over the next seven years.
Or the silence that would follow.
Fighting between the hate of his past and the promise of his future, Killian must make choices—ones that would affect more than himself. Choices that would test the lines of right and wrong. Decisions that could break the bond of the only love Killian knew.
Hate or love. Revenge or forgiveness. Silence or his voice.

Silenced
About the Author: Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped.
She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters. She is now a mother of three girls, leaving her husband as the only man in a house full of females.
The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. Most importantly Leddy wanted to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.

Hot Cop by Sierra Simone and Laurelin Paige
Sierra Simone and Laurelin Paige are wonderful and very, very talented writers. So when I found out they were teaming up to write a book together I knew it was going to be a hot one and Hot Cop did not disappoint! This book is so hot that my jaw was literally on the floor and Officer Kelly literally made me melt into my chair with his delishness. Yeah..it’s THAT hot of a read! These two authors honestly need a warning label because together or standalone, they are hot, hot, hot.
Blurb: Chase: You have the right to remain sexy.
Anything you say can and will be used to get you in my bed.
You have the right to use my body to give yourself a delirious, life-changing orgasm.
If you have trouble…don’t worry, I’m a bit of an expert in that department.
There’s nothing ‘thin’ about my blue line, if you catch my drift, and trust me, I know how to put those handcuffs to good use.
Livia Ward wants a baby before she’s thirty. And even though Officer Chase Kelly is exactly the kind of cocky jerk this librarian has sworn off, he is undeniably hot. Both of them think they can give each other what they want–a few nights of fun for Officer Kelly, a no-strings baby for Livia–but this hot cop is about to learn that sex, babies, and love don’t always play by the rules.

About Laurelin Paige: USA Today and New York Times Bestselling Author Laurelin Paige is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead, or dreaming of Michael Fassbender. She’s also a proud member of Mensa International though she doesn’t do anything with the organization except use it as material for her bio. She is represented by Rebecca Friedman.

Tycoon by Katy Evans
No surprise that Katy Evans makes my list again! Tycoon is my standalone of the year. The cover is beautiful, I love the story of two childhood friends coming back together and falling in love and honestly I just love Katy Evans and all her wonderful stories and characters. This book is a perfect standalone because most of the time I finish standalones wanting more but Tycoon wasn’t like that. You’ll want to read it over and over of course but it gives you the sense that the story is complete which is kind of the point of standalone!
Blurb: He wasn’t always this rich. This hot. This difficult.
Aaric Christos was a guy who protected me. Wanted me. Maybe even loved me.
That man is gone.
In his place is the most powerful real estate tycoon in the city.
He’s a cold, ruthless, aggressive businessman.
The only one who can save me and my startup from ruin.
It takes every ounce of courage to put my pride aside and ask for his help.
I didn’t expect him to offer it easily.
And he doesn’t.
Instead, he vets me harder than he’s vetted anyone.
Don’t invest in what you don’t know, he says.
He’s assessing every piece of me, to the point I’ve never felt so bare.
I yearn for the boy I once knew, whose touch once craved me.
Putting it all on the line will be worth it, I tell myself.
Until I realize—too late—that some risks are not worth taking.

Fire In His Blood by Ruby Dixon
I am a big fan of fantasy and romance, so when I find a book or book series that includes both of those two genres together I am one happy girl! Fire In His Blood features a future dystopian universe where our world has been ravaged by dragons. Action, romance, fantasy and dragons are the focal point of this book and honestly I was hooked in chapter one. This is the first book in the series but it’s been my favorite so far!
Blurb: Years ago, the skies ripped open and the world was destroyed in fire and ash. Dragons – once creatures of legend – are the enemy. Vicious and unpredictable, they rule the skies of the ruined cities, forcing humanity to huddle behind barricades for safety.
Claudia’s a survivor. She scrapes by as best as she can in a hard, dangerous world. When she runs afoul of the law, she’s left as bait in dragon territory. She only has one chance to survive – to somehow ‘tame’ a dragon and get it to obey her.
Except the dragon that finds her is as wild and brutal as any other…and he’s not interested in obeying. What he is interested in is a mate.
I don’t have a review for this one but I am hoping to re-read it and review this book and series in the future! You can get you copy from the following link here —> Fire In His Blood

Racer by Katy Evans
Racer is a spin off/final book in Katy Evans the Real series and is my number one romance book of the year. I love the Real series with all my heart and soul and I honestly didn’t think anyone could top Remy (the hero and alpha male of Real) but of course somehow, someway and much to my surprise his son did. I won’t go into details but Racer stole my heart and made me just over the moon happy. The story is wonderful, the chemistry and love between the couple is electric and sexy. I love Racer with all my heart and soul and I’m just so thankful for Katy Evans and her magic. So thankful. Do yourself a favor and read this wonderful book!
Blurb: A bad boy with something to prove.
A woman with a mission.
The race of their lives.
The love of a lifetime.
I don’t think his parents expected him to live up to his name—Racer Tate—but once he felt the adrenaline rush behind the wheel, he was addicted.
He’s the fastest, fiercest driver around.
Scouting new talent brings me to his doorstep… but his smile sends me to my knees.
The sexy, mysterious Racer Tate is not the kind of man a girl like me falls for. He’s secretive, reckless, elusive. But his proximity pushes me beyond reason, and his kiss….
This is our last chance to win, and he is our only hope. I’m supposed to watch him—make sure he doesn’t get into trouble. But it’s an impossible task. And now the one in heart wrenching, toe-curling, soul-crushing trouble is me. Because when your heart belongs to someone, their truths become your own, and their secrets become your salvation…or your curse.
He says he wants me. He says I’m the One. But he also thinks he’ll break my heart, one piece at a time until it’s gone.

and my last pick of 2017 is…..A Court Of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas!!!
So I used to love Young Adult books until I stopped reading them in 2016 due to several books disappointing me. Yes, TWO BOOKS literally made me stop reading YA because they were THAT bad. I didn’t think I would ever read YA again, until I picked A Court of Thorns and Roses in July of 2017. Within a week I had all three books in the series and I was completely and utterly blown away. Sarah J. Maas transported me to a completely different world and she is a fantastic writer. Her characters are dynamic and interesting and the plot a great page turner and just makes you want to stay up all night to finish her book! Out of the three of the series (A Court of Thorns and Roses, A Court of Mist and Fury, A Court of Wings and Ruin) A Court of Mist was my favorite and is my number book and read of 2017. I haven’t reviewed these books yet but I will be re-reading them soon and will post my reviews then. Hold onto your seats kids because I have a lot of love and feelings towards these books! Until my review, check out the blurb and buy links! I’ll be posting the synopsis for A Court of Thorns and Roses so it won’t spoil for what happens in A Court of Mist and Fury if you want to read it!
Blurb: When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.
As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow over the faerie lands is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it…or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

2017 was a difficult year for me, the worst of my life. But I’m thankful for all the books I read, for the authors that helped me escape my sometimes harsh reality and for all the opportunities to review these wonderful series! Here’s to happiness and new reads in 2018!
