The Cover: I love the cover of Million Dollar Devil! The black and white with the hint of red works very well together and the cover model’s expression is very much what I imagined for James.

Basics: Million Dollar Devil was released on May 28th 2019, published by Montlake Romance and is 298 pages long. Genre wise Million Dollar Devil belongs to contemporary romance.

Overall thoughts: Oh my gosh! I loved this book so much! I have been in the WORST book slump ever and Million Dollar Devil just broke it! Katy Evans is one of my favorite romance writers and she just seriously hit this book out of the park. Million Dollar Devil is also available for FREE on Kindle Unlimited so grab for free while you can!

This book focuses on Lizzy and James, two different individuals and a man and woman who are completely different zones. Lizzy is the only child and daughter to Mr. Banks, the owner to one of the biggest men’s fashion companies in the world. Lizzy is smart, beautiful, hard working and has tried everything impossible to please her Father, but since she’s female and working in a men’s fashion company, the odds are significantly stacked against her. When an opportunity comes for Lizzy to make her Father proud and take the reins of the company she jumps to do so, until she can’t find the perfect man for the new campaign she needs.

Enter James: the gorgeous and cocky Youtuber who doesn’t turn down any dare and will literally do anything for money. He’s a bit rough around the edges and lacks manners but Lizzy immediately gets the idea to turn James into the perfect model for her Father’s upcoming campaign. She doesn’t think about how attracted they are to one another or the fact that their different social standing could put everything she’s built with her Father and career at risk. Million Dollar Devil is a great story about a great couple falling for one another despite their social standings which I love this trope when it comes to romance books. What I also loved about Million Dollar Devil is the fact that Lizzy is such an amazing character and person; she basically has dedicated her entire life to her Father and his business (even going to freaking Stanford!) yet she STILL feels like she’s not enough for him. The things she goes through and how meeting and falling for James plays out, it really warmed my heart and is such a great message for anyone out there who gives it their all and still doesn’t feel like they are enough. Katy Evans has such great messages in all of her books but Million Dollar Devil‘s message will definitely stay with me for a long time. Million Dollar Devil is a MUST READ for any contemporary romance lover!

Review: The Reality of Wright and Wrong by Leddy Harper

The Cover: I like the cover of The Reality of Wright and Wrong a lot. I like the filter they used over the cover model too and his expression is quite dreamy and lovely to look at.

Basics: The Reality of Wright and Wrong was released on March 12th, self published by Leddy Harper and is 309 pages long. Genre wise The Reality of Wright and Wrong belongs to contemporary romance.

This isn’t a story of love at first sight—love didn’t come into play until after I had ruined it all. It’s the reality of what is right and what is wrong when it comes to soulmates.

Overall thoughts: The Reality of Wright and Wrong is definitely a home run for Leddy Harper. I really loved this book and I especially enjoyed the pacing. With every chapter I finished there was something exciting and new that was added to the story and I really enjoyed that. I also love a bit of a trainwreck kind of plot too which is essentially what happens in The Reality of Wright and Wrong. Mercy is head over heels for his fiance and when she flies into town to surprise him, it doesn’t end up well.

Completely heartbroken to find her soon to be husband hanging all over another woman, she leaves without a word even going so far to leave her ring behind too. While trying to process what she just saw and her future, she runs into and I mean literally runs into the handsome, tatted and mysterious Brogan. They immediately hit it off right away and their story just takes off.

The Reality of Wright and Wrong is one of those books where you feel like you don’t know what you’re getting into, but once you get hooked, you are HOOKED. It is a great contemporary romance read!

About the Author: Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped.

She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters. She is now a mother of three girls, leaving her husband as the only man in a house full of females.

The Cover: I LOVE this cover! I am so happy and THANKFUL that curvy women are being represented. Honestly this cover and story make me so emotional because I am a curvy woman myself and I just love this. The picture of the mode and the flower petals all work well together.

Overall thoughts: I want to start off this review by first saying thank you to Sierra Simone because this book means so much to me. I am a curvy woman and have struggled for so many years to love myself and to see that same struggle with a female character in a freaking romance book and feel represented? I am completely blown away and so, so thankful. I relate to Ireland SO FREAKING MUCH, oh my goodness that is probably my favorite thing that I love about Misadventures of a Curvy Girl is how RELATABLE it is!! When it comes to books right now and I’m talking about ANY book, ANY genre…representation is HUGE and to be able to relate to to a book like this immediately is just magic.

Misadventures of a Curvy Girl starts off with Ireland getting stranded in the middle of nowhere, in a rural part of Kansas and gets rescued by two men. Not just any two men, two hot, muscled, beautiful men who are CLEARLY attracted to her however Ireland is so sure of that because why would two attractive men want a curvy girl? Thus begins the story of three people falling for one another. One girl trying to understand how two men can want and love and two men trying to make the girl understand how beautiful she is and that they want her, no matter what society says.

Misadventures of a Curvy Girl has Sierra Simone’s signature, sizzling, sexy writing with a wonderful love story that will make you feel good and melt your heart. I loved Ireland, Ben and Caleb together and their story is a definite read for any romance lover!

The Cover: The Wrong Gentleman cover is gorgeous! I love how well the background and the model connect and work well together. I think all of Louise Bay’s book covers are gorgeous but I especially love how sunshine backlights the male cover model too. It’s something different and adds something a little extra to the cover.

Basics: The Wrong Gentleman was released on February 19th 2019 and is 268 pages long. Genre wise The Wrong Gentleman belongs to contemporary romance.

Overall thoughts: I loved The Wrong Gentleman! There is something magical about two lost or broken souls coming together and I adored Landon and Skylar together! They are a couple that need each other and honestly what was missing in both of their lives was one another, again something that I found extra special in regards to their love story.

Needing a fresh start after selling his company, Landon wants something quieter and calmer life. Everything changes when his friend asks him a favor that leads him to meet our leading lady, Skylar. She is literally one of my favorite characters, ever. Skylar has been through a lot and her past really, really touched my heart and more than anything I just wanted her to find happiness. I think it’s a big deal when you love a character so much that you genuinely want them to be happy, that speaks volumes to the character AND the creation/writing/portrayal of the character.

Everything just takes off when Skylar and Landon meet. They begin as friends and their friendship deepens into something much more raw and real and beautiful. I adore them as a couple and their chemistry just leaps off the page. Louise Bay is very talented and The Wrong Gentleman is one of her best books she’s ever written, highly recommend!

Review: Wicked Player by Stacey Lynn

The Cover: I have liked all the Rough Riders book covers but I think Wicked Player is my favorite! I love the black and purple colors, the font and I really think the model staring down the reader is very sexy and alluring. My only issue with this cover is that I wish I could see the rest of the cover model’s head.

Basics: Wicked Player by Stacey Lynn was released on January 29th 2019, published by Stacey Lynn Books, is the third book in the Rough Riders series and is 273 pages long. Genre wise Wicked Player belongs to contemporary romance, sports romance, forbidden romance and erotica.

Description: Gage Bryant has the best hands and the quickest feet of any wide receiver in football. He also has a secret—one he’ll do anything to protect.

He’s a member of The Velvet Club. With airtight non disclosure agreements, playing at Velvet gives him the freedom to assert his dominance and control in a way that not only serves him on the football field, but the way he craves in the bedroom. Overall thoughts: I was so excited to see that the Rough Riders series by Stacey Lynn was continuing! I am not that big into sports romance books, especially football sports romance books but I gave the Rough Riders series a try and loved them! When I saw the cover for Wicked Player along with the blurb my interest increased greatly because the first two books Dirty Player and Filthy Player were straight up contemporary romances with some intensity but nothing along the lines of hardcore erotica or BDSM. So it delighted that Wicked Player was going to be a bit different.

Stacey Lynn’s Luminous series (which you can find here: https://bit.ly/2Wn7kbi) is focused heavily on erotica and BDSM and in my personal opinion are some of the best, well written erotic/BDSM books in the romance genre world. Wicked Player is a book that definitely belongs in the Luminous series because HOLY COW this book is HOT. Again in relation to the Rough Riders series, Wicked Player focuses on one of the famous football stars from the fictional NFL football team of the Rough Riders. Several team members have fallen already and are starting their happily ever afters, while elsewhere one of the teammates believes because of his status as a professional football player that he will be alone.

That doesn’t he will be constantly alone however because Gage Bryant wide receiver of the Rough Riders frequents a BDSM club, the Velvet Club. He be as wicked as he wants at Velvet and have full confidentiality too; that is until he stumbles upon the beautiful and alluring reporter Elizabeth Hayes. The connection between them is more than sex and is special, they both realize this. Problem is Elizabeth has no idea who she’s playing with at Velvet and Gage is trying to find the constant need and want for a woman who could ruin his life at any second.

Wicked Player was such a great read! I devoured this book within a day and there were so many aspects of it that I just loved! The forbidden romance features, the way Elizabeth and Gage connect with one another and overall just the story really held my attention. Another part of the book I really loved was that usually it takes some time for a couple to get together but Wicked Player has Gage and Elizabeth get together immediately. Usually something that annoys me, but in this instance I LOVED because of what was going on in the story (you have to Wicked Player to find out what I mean!)

I had a few minor issues with Wicked Player, small things that you might not mind but I did. I was a bit frustrated because I felt like when things started to really go well and the book was going great, it seemed to just…wrap up and end. I wish Elizabeth and Gage’s story was longer! I also didn’t like how literally this and that happened (no spoilers!) then everything seemed to get resolved quickly. I felt like you could blink and suddenly everything was fixed and the book ended. I didn’t like that at all! My issues aside I really loved Wicked Player and it will definitely be one of my top sport romance books of the year!
