Kiss My Ash Teaser Text Books (2)

Excerpt: “Why am I the only one getting naked?” Kristy huffed. “If you’re so confident that we won’t get caught, why is your suit still on?”

“Because I’m not the one who said I’ve always wanted to go skinny dipping.”

“Well, being the only one doing it isn’t much fun.”

“Wow, babe…what happened to you?”

After a moment, she asked, “What do you mean?”

“You got old.”

“I did what?”

“You heard me—got old.”

“Don’t be an Ash-hole. In case you don’t remember…I am old.”

Shaking my head, I bit back a grin she couldn’t see, though I felt confident she could hear the hilarity drifting past my lips. “Did you just call me an Ash-hole? On purpose? Or are your dentures falling out, giving you a minor slur.”

“Keep it up, and you’ll leave me no choice but to open a can of whoop-Ash on you.”

It took everything in me to hold back the humor that filled my entire body before it bellowed out into the night—which would most certainly wake a few people. “You’re on a roll. What else you got?”

“The list is rather extensive; it could take all night. Maybe if you weren’t such a jack-Ash, I’d tell you. But alas, you are, so it looks like you can kiss my Ash.”

“See?” I lowered my head and allowed my hushed laughter to swarm us, creating a cocoon meant for two. “You’re not old. You might think you are, but if that were the case, you wouldn’t have been able to come up with creative ways to spin my name into a curse word.”

“Well, they say you are the company you keep.”

“So it’s my fault you’ve been sneaking around, making out with your neighbor behind bushes at night like a teenager without a care in the world?”

“Something like that…” She couldn’t even say that with a straight face, which was evident by the amusement in her tone. “Regardless, you’re not allowed to say I’m old. I don’t give a rat’s Ash how good you are in bed, do it again and we’re finished. You hear me?”

“Yeah, Kris…” Eliminating the humor between us, I lowered my lips to her ear. “Loud and clear. And if you don’t take this bathing suit off now, I’ll make you scream so loud the entire neighborhood will hear you as well.”

About the Author: Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped.

She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters. She is now a mother of three girls, leaving her husband as the only man in a house full of females.

The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. Most importantly Leddy wanted to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.

Review: Lick by Kylie Scott

Lick.jpg
The Cover: I really love the cover of Lick because of several reasons. One, the tattoos and the guitar are just SUPER swoon worthy; it is the perfect image of a bad boy rock and roller. Two, I actually really like how only half of the model’s face is shown because your image of what you see in your head could be anything. It’s not a certain cover model so your image of David could be anything you want which I really like because with some covers you get one image and you only think of that image as the character.

Basics: Lick was released on November 11th 2013, published by St. Martin’s Griffin and is 321 pages long. Lick is the first book in the Stage Dive series. Genre wise Lick belongs to contemporary romance, music romance and new adult.

Description: Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this.

Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure as hell never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened. One thing is for certain, being married to rock and roll’s favorite son is sure to be a wild ride.
Lick.jpg

Overall thoughts: I stumbled upon Lick by Kylie Scott on a random Target run in late November 2013. I was just getting into reading romance and I actually never had read any book that dealt with being a rock star band, let alone falling in love with one of the band-mates. But when I started reading Lick I immediately even fell more in love with romance book genre.

Kylie Scott has one of the best sense of humor, ever; and I bet her sense of rumor is even better in person. But when it comes to that sense of humor in her books? Oh my goodness they just make me smile! David is a very complex, brooding, sexy kind of heroine but his persona and overall attitude was very magnetic to me. Of course when you’re reading Lick you get this visual of this attractive, sort of tortured, tattoo’d guitar player in your head which is all sorts of good. However, I fell head over heels for David because of the way Scott wrote his personality. His little quirks, jabs and witty comments just made me smile or blush several times.

Evelyn is literally every millennial struggling right now. Working a summer job, going to college and taking on a major that her family basically decided for her. She feels lost and lord knows when we feel lost we try to escape from our issues which usually leads to an adventure. Adventure that leads her to Vegas where she meets David and marries him. Problem is she doesn’t remember meeting him OR marrying him.

No spoilers but Lick (and the entire series Stage Dive in general) is one of my favorite books of all time. I love David and Evelyn very much and it’s been FIVE year and I still think about how great their love is from time to time. I also really love how their relationship isn’t perfect but that doesn’t make it any less true, it only strengths their love and relationship. Lick is funny, you can’t put down page turning, sexy, witty and is such a great love story to open this series. Another favorite part of Lick is how it introduces the other members of Stage Dive and sets up my favorite book of this series, Play

If you want to read a good commoner falling in love with a rock star style romance kind of book, Lick and the entire series of Stage Dive is definitely for you!

Favorite Quotes: “Love isn’t always smooth or straightforward. It can be messy and painful … Doesn’t mean it isn’t still the most incredible thing that can ever happen to you.”

“I married you, Evelyn, because you made sense to me. We make sense. We’re a whole lot better together than apart.” -David

“This is your life now?”
“Guess so.”
“Huh, why don’t you go back to LA?”
“My wife lives in Portland.” -Evelyn & David

“I was going to kill him. Slowly. Strangle him with the overpriced thong. A fitting death for a rock star.” -Evelyn

Book Blogger Hop: What author have you read the most in the past two years?

Book Blogger Hop (Final)

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, I relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog. All credits & info go to this page <—

June 8th – 14th Question – What author have you read the most in the past two years? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)
divider 3
I think this is a very interesting question because I like as a blogger that my interests when it comes to reading and reviewing have changed A LOT. When I first started Amorette’s Reviews in the fall of 2016 I was solely focused on the romance genre; but two years later I feel like my blog isn’t solely based on the romance genre or it’s authors. So it’s interesting to go back down memory lane and see who I’ve read the most and honestly if you follow my blog…you should KNOW by now who I read the most.
Katy Evans 1.png
I’ve said it before and I’ll probably keep saying it for the rest of my life but I am a Katy Evans fangirl. I fell in with her first book Real in 2013 and I’ve been hooked ever since. She has this wonderful gift of connecting with her readers in each and every one of her books and I just adore her. Her books are well written and each story’s plot is intriguing with different backgrounds and wonderful stories that will touch and melt your heart.

Her characters are strong, individual, compassionate, passionate, smart and courageous. All of her leading ladies are relatable with different backgrounds, goals and dreams and I have literally been able to relate to each and every one of them and I’ve read all seventeen books of Katy’s. Evans Alpha males are hot, sensual, sexy, bad, swoon worthy and literally leap off the page and into your heart and soul. Her couple’s chemistry is just everything you want to read about in a romance book: carnal, loyal, deeply in love and personal. Katy Evans is my favorite author and since 2013 she has definitely filled my Kindle and bookshelves with the magic that is her books. Even after her new books release I continue to go back to all her different series and standalones.

Sierra Simone.png
The other author that I’ve read over and over and will never get sick of is Sierra Simone. I stumbled upon her New Camelot series and was completely blown away. She is an amazing writer; I really can’t fully explain it but she has this way of writing that just transports you like you are IN the book. Every time I want to escape the harsh realities of the crazy world we live in, I grab a Sierra Simone book. The New Camelot series is one of the most intense, emotionally, charged books I have ever read. This book series actually made me cry and want drink at the same time. Sierra has no qualms about tearing her reader’s hearts but she also has this fabulous way of putting them back together too.

Her Priest series is probably the diriest and sexist set of books I have ever read in my entire life. Sierra most definitely has the gift of dirty writing and she should probably have dozens and dozens of awards for it. Sierra Simone is one of the most talented and gifted romance authors around right now and I can guarantee you won’t disappointed by her books.

May 2018 Wrap Up

I can’t believe it’s JUNE! Can you believe it’s June?! It’s officially Summer! I mean technically not until the 21st but still…when it comes to reading, it’s Summer! In this post I’ll be discussing all the books I’ve read last month, my favorites and my disappointments. Happy Reading!
Untitled.png
May started off with lots of hot releases! The first book I read was Bane by LJ Shen which I liked very much but honestly, she needs to put a warning before her books if she’s going to be focusing on triggering topics. It’s an issue and considering I have PTSD myself, I really did not being triggered without warning. But besides that Bane was a solid romance book book. You can check out the blurb, buy links and my review for Bane here <—

The other hot release for the beginning of May was A Court Of Frost & Starlight by Sarah J. Maas. I am a huge A Court Of Thorns & Roses series fangirl and I really loved this novella. Heck, it was actually pretty long for a novella! Usually novellas (in my reading experience) are shorter than 100 pages, so the fact that Maas gave us a 272 page novella tying up events that happened in A Court Of Wings & Ruin AND set up storylines for the future of this series? A+ from me. You can check out the blurb, buy links & my review here <—

Untitled 2.png
The next two books I read completely came out of left field for me and really just rocked my ever loving mind, I seriously fell head over heels over these books and I immediately wanted to read more books from the authors. R. Scarlett was such a joy for me, her writing is so well written and her characters just wiggle their way into your heart so quickly! Filthy Gods was a prequel novella and I’m super excited for what’s to come for the Filthy Gods series! You can check out the blurb, buy links and my review here <—

I was pretty much doomed when I borrowed Pestilence by Laura Thalassa from the Kindle Unlimited program and it’s safe to say the woman’s books have taken over my life. This book had me hooked from the first page to the last, I couldn’t put it down and I’m quite put out that I have to wait more books for this series! Pestilence definitely will be high on my list for  best books of the year. You can check out the blurb, buy links and my review here <—

Untitled
All of Laura Thalassa’s books are on Kindle Unlimited and I had some time in between ARC’s so I borrowed her Fallen World Series and again I was completely blown away! Holy cow this woman can WRITE A STORY! Post apocalyptic, romance, science fiction, full of action and drama? SIGN ME UP. I currently do not have full out reviews for these books but I plan to soon!

Untitled 3.png
I’ve been slowly but surely getting back into reading Young Adult books and I finally read the duet of Daughter of the Pirate King and Daughter of the Siren Queen! Tricia Levenseller is pure magic! She wrote such a great duet full of adventure, romance, well written heroine and overall had a great Pirates of the Caribbean vibe to it! I really loved these two books and I will definitely have my eye on any future Levenseller releases.

Untitled 4.png
I love supporting good causes and Cocktales the Cocky Collective is one of the best ones. Each story was specifically written for this anthology. The goal of the Cocktales Anthology is to raise funds to fight against obstruction of creative expression. Specifically, what we believe are obstruction attempts through the trademarking of common (single) words for titicular use in books / or as a book series (eBooks, print, and audio). Cocktales will only be available May 26th-August 26th. You can check out the full list of authors included in Cocktales and buy links here <–

Since I loved Laura Thalassa’s other series so much I read Rhapsodic and I was disappointed by it. I thought it was well written, the characters dynamic and intriguing but it just wasn’t my cup of tea sadly.
Mogul-Teaser5-AN (1)
The last book I read for May was Mogul by Katy Evans. She has been on a standalone kick lately and honestly I think she’s quite fabulous at it. Ian and Sara were a lot different from her usual couples but that’s what made me love them and enjoy Mogul so much! You can check out the full blurb, buy links and my review here <—
divider 3
I read 12 books for May 2018 and it was a really exciting, fun and surprising month for reading for me. I’m looking forward to the rest of the Summer bookwise but I definitely think I’m gonna slow down when it comes to ARC’S for June. What were some of your reads for May, comment and tell me!

Release Blitz & Review: Mogul by Katy Evans

Mogul Amazon-2 (1)The Cover: I love this cover! Nothing better than a handsome man staring you down with a fierce, determined expression on his face and he is reminds me of Ian’s intense aura too! The cover of Mogul is perfection!

Basics:  Mogul was released on May 31st 2018 and is 252 pages long. Genre wise Mogul belongs to standalone and contemporary romance.

Description: He’s my most delicious secret.
The hot Suit I had a one-night stand with one evening.
I didn’t know anything about him, not even his name.
Only that we shared a taxi, and he was staying at the hotel where I worked.
We met in room 1103. Where he commanded not only my body but my soul.
The next day he was gone and I only had a memory of him.
I could still taste his kisses, feel his demanding touch.
I searched for him for months. Daydreaming about him. Wondering if I’d ever find him.
Until the day I find myself staring face to face with his jeweled black eyes again.
He says lets keep it casual, and my heart knows that falling for this workaholic in a three-thousand-dollar suit is off the table.
Because he has a secret. One that’s a deal breaker for me.
My Suit has a name.  Ian Ford. And this is our story.
*Mogul contains characters from Tycoon, but is written to be read as a standalone.*
Mogul-Teaser3-AN.jpg

Overall thoughts: What a complete and utter whirlwind Ian and Sara’s story was! From start to finish I was blown away by their love story. Mogul had a stark pace that was completely different from Katy Evans usual style of slow burning romance couples in previous books. That being said, I really enjoyed it! There wasn’t any filler or getting to know each other, Ian and Sara met and literally were in each other’s arms hours later. As I stated before, different from Evans usual style of writing but it was such a fresh change!

Sara and Ian were meant to be together, oh my goodness these two make me melt and smile! I completely adore them! Their love story might not be conventional but it is definitely epic. One of my favorite aspects of Katy Evans’ books is how she creates these characters with backgrounds and stories that you can relate to and you can see yourself in their shoes. Her characters may be fictional, but the way she writes them I feel as if I know them personally.

Ian is very, very hot; the man knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to say so either. He’s facing his own personal issues and seems to only want a casual thing with Sara but Ian shows this vulnerable side too. Sara isn’t the only one who is afraid of getting hurt and it was nice to see that side of a male character because I don’t think it’s written or shown enough. Men may not like to show all different sides of emotions but they have to them and do deal with them.

Mogul will probably be my favorite standalone of the year. It’s definitely not a slow burning book and it’s very fast paced but I loved it from start to finish. Sara and Ian have an epic kind of love that I won’t forget about for a very long time.

Cover Reveal: It Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time by Kylie Scott

It Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time by Kylie Scott coming August 7th!

“Addictive like all Kylie Scott books, you’ll swoon, laugh, ache, put your life on hold, and compulsively read until the wee hours of the night—only to reread the whole thing the next morning. Perfection!” – Katy Evans, New York Times bestselling author
ISLAGIATT FOR WEB
Blurb: Returning home for her father’s wedding was never going to be easy for Adele. If being sent away at eighteen hadn’t been bad enough, the mess she left behind when she made a pass at her dad’s business partner sure was.

Fifteen years older than her, Pete had been her crush for as long as she could remember. But she’d misread the situation—confusing friendliness for undying love. Awkward. Add her father to the misunderstanding, and Pete was left with a broken nose and a business on the edge of ruin. The man had to be just as glad as everyone else when she left town.

Seven years later, things are different. Adele is no longer a kid, but a fully grown adult more than capable of getting through the wedding and being polite. But all it takes is seeing him again to bring back those old feelings.

Sometimes first loves are the truest. Good-Idea-promo-7 (1).jpg
