The Cover: I am in love with this cover. If you’ve read my reviews before you know how much book covers mean to me. Book covers are sometimes what gets people to buy books when a cover doesn’t relate to the characters or story it drives me up the wall. That isn’t the case for this book, Racer’s cover is perfection and matches him 100% A+
Basics: Racer was released on September 28th 2017 and is 358 pages long. Racer is a standalone but does related to Katy Evans’ series The Real series. Genre wise Racer belongs to standalone and contemporary romance.

Overall thoughts: I loved this book. No seriously Racer is in the running for my favorite book of the year, it was THAT good. Real by Katy Evans was my first book of hers and I immediately fell in love with Remy and Real’s wonderful story. Honestly I love all of Katy Evans’ books with all my heart and soul, but Real and Racer will always hold a special place in my heart. My entire life I have struggled with depression and anxiety and three years ago I was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
For a long time I didn’t think anyone would ever love me because of my mental illnesses and it’s taken me a long time but I am able to function and fight against my darkness. But reading a book with a character that is bipolar finding love/is afraid no one will return their love because they are mentally ill just spoke to me so much. I feel so close to Remy and Racer because we share the same thoughts and every day is a struggle for us. But we’re fighters and even though they are just fictional characters, they mean the world to me.
Racer is an amazing character, I didn’t think anyone could come close to Remy (his father) but leave it to his son to edge him out of winning the race. Racer is a standalone but relates to The Real series. Racer is without a doubt Remy’s son but honestly Racer is his own character too. He’s headstrong, confident, caring, determined and he’s a man with something to prove. Lana is a woman with something to prove too and what I find out absolutely enchanting with Racer and Lana’s relationship is the fact they both were trying to find their way in the world and it took them coming together to figure things out.
Their chemistry is insane, Katy Evans has written some amazing, steamy scenes between her characters before but holy cow…Lana and Racer deserve their own award. I loved Racer so much; the story, the characters…everything about this book was magical from start to end and may be a little cheesy but Racer really does give you the race of a lifetime with this wonderful book. I am dubbing Racer my most recommended book of the year!
