Overall thoughts: Ilsa Madden-Mills is such a gift, I think she has an amazing talent for great storytelling, with kick butt characters you fall in love with and swoon, melt-worthy romance dialogue. Boyfriend Bargain is a contemporary and sports romance book which I really enjoy because they are usually very fun and books that many of us can relate to. That being said, in regards to sports romance focused books football tends to be the sport that I see the most when it comes that genre. I like sports, I played sports growing up and I am drawn to athletes in general; but I despise football. So every time I see a sports romance book that ISN’T football, I’m immediately drawn to that. (Disclaimer: as much as I can’t stand football, some of the BEST sports romance books I have read and pushed through have been centered on football…go figure!)

Zack is the playboy of the hockey team and Sugar just wants to have fun, no love or romance involved. Just fun. She definitely doesn’t want to be with Zack, but fate keeps pulling them together and when they give into the growing heat between them, a connection occurs. However Sugar just wants to focus on having fun, the woman has rules and she wants to stick with them. Unfortunately for her Zack wants more and isn’t willing to let their story end just yet.

Boyfriend Bargain is a great sports romance book, with a fresh take on a love story that usually isn’t seen much in the romance book world: the guy chasing after the girl. I really loved this book and I highly suggest you add it to your bookshelf ASAP!

Excerpt: “We should kiss, just get it out of the way and move on,” I say, sure of the crazy idea as each second passes.

There’s a hitch in Z’s breath, and his eyes go straight to my lips. “Works for me.”

“But just one. None of that fancy tongue work.”

The Cover: As always I think Katy Evans’ book covers are gorgeous but I’m not a huge fan of Boss’ cover to honest. I don’t know it’s just not my style I guess.

Basics: Boss was released on March 1st 2018, published by Harlequin Desire and is 224 pages long. Genre wise Boss belongs to contemporary romance.

Overall thoughts: No matter what Katy Evans decides to write about I am always going to stop what I’m doing and read it, because each and every book she creates is pure magic. Boss tells the story of Chicago native Alexandra Croft: a successful worker at Cupid’s Arrow, a popular dating app. She is very hard working and clearly is heavily invested in her work, an attribute I find very attractive in regards to a leading lady of any book regardless of genre. However Alexandra runs into trouble when the sexy, irritating, trust fund son of the owner of Cupid’s Arrow, Kit steps into leading the company.

The chemistry between Alexandra and Kit snaps and sizzles, but Alexandra is trying to focus on her career and isn’t trying to jump into bed with the new owner of her company. Trying to ignore the attraction between them Alexandra cannot deny her growing infatuation and feelings for Kit even when he irritates her most. Boss is a perfect office romance story and is one of Katy Evans classic swoon worthy, romance books. Another great addition to Evans growing list of romance novels!

The Cover: I LOVE this cover! I am so happy and THANKFUL that curvy women are being represented. Honestly this cover and story make me so emotional because I am a curvy woman myself and I just love this. The picture of the mode and the flower petals all work well together.

Basics: Misadventures of a Curvy Girl was released on February 19th 2019, published by Waterhouse Press and is 240 pages long. Misadventures is a romantic series of spicy standalone novels, each written or co-written by some of the best names in romance. Genre wise Misadventures of a Curvy Girl belongs to contemporary romance, standalone romance, erotica and mengage.

Overall thoughts: I want to start off this review by first saying thank you to Sierra Simone because this book means so much to me. I am a curvy woman and have struggled for so many years to love myself and to see that same struggle with a female character in a freaking romance book and feel represented? I am completely blown away and so, so thankful. I relate to Ireland SO FREAKING MUCH, oh my goodness that is probably my favorite thing that I love about Misadventures of a Curvy Girl is how RELATABLE it is!! When it comes to books right now and I’m talking about ANY book, ANY genre…representation is HUGE and to be able to relate to to a book like this immediately is just magic.

Misadventures of a Curvy Girl starts off with Ireland getting stranded in the middle of nowhere, in a rural part of Kansas and gets rescued by two men. Not just any two men, two hot, muscled, beautiful men who are CLEARLY attracted to her however Ireland is so sure of that because why would two attractive men want a curvy girl? Thus begins the story of three people falling for one another. One girl trying to understand how two men can want and love and two men trying to make the girl understand how beautiful she is and that they want her, no matter what society says.

Misadventures of a Curvy Girl has Sierra Simone’s signature, sizzling, sexy writing with a wonderful love story that will make you feel good and melt your heart. I loved Ireland, Ben and Caleb together and their story is a definite read for any romance lover!

The Cover: The Wrong Gentleman cover is gorgeous! I love how well the background and the model connect and work well together. I think all of Louise Bay’s book covers are gorgeous but I especially love how sunshine backlights the male cover model too. It’s something different and adds something a little extra to the cover.

Basics: The Wrong Gentleman was released on February 19th 2019 and is 268 pages long. Genre wise The Wrong Gentleman belongs to contemporary romance.

Overall thoughts: I loved The Wrong Gentleman! There is something magical about two lost or broken souls coming together and I adored Landon and Skylar together! They are a couple that need each other and honestly what was missing in both of their lives was one another, again something that I found extra special in regards to their love story.

Needing a fresh start after selling his company, Landon wants something quieter and calmer life. Everything changes when his friend asks him a favor that leads him to meet our leading lady, Skylar. She is literally one of my favorite characters, ever. Skylar has been through a lot and her past really, really touched my heart and more than anything I just wanted her to find happiness. I think it’s a big deal when you love a character so much that you genuinely want them to be happy, that speaks volumes to the character AND the creation/writing/portrayal of the character.

Everything just takes off when Skylar and Landon meet. They begin as friends and their friendship deepens into something much more raw and real and beautiful. I adore them as a couple and their chemistry just leaps off the page. Louise Bay is very talented and The Wrong Gentleman is one of her best books she’s ever written, highly recommend!

Basics: Overture was released on February 19th, 2019 and is 350 pages long. Genre wise Overture belongs to contemporary romance and forbidden romance.

Overall thoughts: Once again Skye Warren hits it out of the park because Overture is a definite homerun. I don’t know why but I am highly drawn to taboo or forbidden romance books, (I blame Romeo and Juliet) and Overture is a classic forbidden romance book. The story immediately had me enthralled from the first page and I honestly feel like Overture was just the beginning of a great series.

To the world Samantha is the world’s best violinist, playing that instrument is her life and she’s one of the youngest prodigies to play violin ever. Liam is her guardian, distant cool and collected but has strong feelings about taking care of Samantha. Which actually turns into the main issue in Overture, it’s an issue when you fall head over heels for the person who is your guardian; it’s even worse when you want something you can’t have, no matter how bad it is. Samantha and Liam both troubled pasts and can’t help being drawn to one another, no matter how wrong or right it feels. As their relationships complicates further when Samantha tries to prove how grown up she is to Liam and happens to stumble upon the deeper, darker secrets between them.

Overture is a well written, steamy, forbidden romance love story and I’m so excited for the rest of this series! I can’t wait to see what Skye Warren does with Samantha and Liam.

Overall thoughts: Catastrophe Queen by Emma Hart is a laugh out loud, funny, feel good romance book. Mallory is such a funny and relatable character that I wish she was real so I could be her friend. She is definitely a standout woman but for all the wrong reasons unfortunately. When she is hired for an office job she can’t help but gawk and swoon over her gorgeous, new boss Cameron Reid. Ironically though, they already know each other which makes things a little more awkward.

Catastrophe Queen is a perfect contemporary romance and romcom book that it is very enjoyable. The romance is slow burning but overall a great romance read to add to your bookshelf!

About the Author: Kristen was born and raised in a small resort town in her beloved Montana. In her mid-twenties, she decided to stretch her wings and move to the Pacific Northwest, where she made her home for more than a dozen years.

During that time, Kristen wrote many romance novels and joined organizations such as RWA and other small writing groups.
