The Cover: Erin Watt books have the most unique beautiful covers! My favorite cover will probably always be a tie between Paper Princess and Broken Prince, but Fallen Heir is gorgeous and is very fitting for Easton I think. Reed was very much a dark Prince, but Easton reminds me more of a trouble making Earl so the scepter is perfect. A+
Basics: Fallen Heir was released on August 28th 2017, is part of the Royals series and is 295 pages long. Contemporary wise Fallen Heir belongs to Young Adult, Young Adult Romance and Teen Angst.
Description: These Royals will ruin you.
Easton Royal has it all: looks, money, intelligence. His goal in life is to have as much fun as possible. He never thinks about the consequences because he doesn’t have to.
Until Hartley Wright appears, shaking up his easy life. She’s the one girl who’s said no, despite being attracted to him. Easton can’t figure her out and that makes her all the more irresistible.
Hartley doesn’t want him. She says he needs to grow up. She might be right.
Rivals. Rules. Regrets. For the first time in Easton’s life, wearing a Royal crown isn’t enough. He’s about to learn that the higher you start, the harder you fall.
Overall thoughts: Are you ready to get Royally Ruined, again? The first three books in the Royal Series: Paper Princess, Broken Prince and Twisted Palace rocked the book universe so much that many readers and bloggers were demanding for more books. And the dynamic duo of Erin Watt has finally delivered my dear readers! Everyone swooned over Reed who was the center of the first trio of Royal books; but a lot of the Royals fan base drooled over Easton, Reed’s younger brother: another Royal son with charm, a bad boy attitude and even bigger problems. But fans still flocked to him for some reason and cried out for his own story to be heard.
Well guys…Erin Watt is finally telling it. I honestly don’t even know where to begin with you honestly. Fallen Heir is a game changer! Erin Watt is known for twists and turns (one of their books is Twisted Palace if that gives you any indication.) but this book changes the Royals series completely. I believe I said something similar to that when Twisted Palace came out last fall, ironic really. But back to Easton! No spoilers in this review so no worries for anyone who doesn’t want to get spoiled but Easton is a mess.
I was a bit disappointed with Easton because he was a mess in the first three books and he’s an even bigger mess in Fallen Heir. A lot of bloggers have swooned over him after reading Fallen Heir and I want to do the complete opposite, I want to slap him and give him a good reality check. Easton is attractive, smart and has a good sense of humor but none of that matters because of his actions in Fallen Heir.
If there was an award for a character that made the worst decisions in the world and said really horrible things…Easton Royal would have the biggest trophy in the world.
That being said…I still loved Fallen Heir and I loved the story and the ending! Oh my goodness the ending! Erin Watt might’ve written a better cliff hanger with Fallen Heir than Sierra Simone, who completely ripped my heart out with the cliff hanger for American Prince. Fallen Heir is definitely worth buying and reading and is still a great Young Adult Romance read. Easton might annoy and frustrate me, but there’s another book coming out next year and hopefully will focus on a redemption for him.
The one thing I didn’t like about Fallen Heir was that the POV was just Easton. Erin Watt did the same thing for Paper Princess and had two POV’S in Broken Prince so I’m assuming they are going to be doing that for Easton’s next book. But I would’ve loved to learn more about Hartley and get her view on things, I think it would of read better as a book that way. But maybe that’s just me and the fact that Easton annoyed me 90% of this book! Probably!
Anyway! I highly recommend Fallen Heir and the other Royals books. I thought Twisted Palace was crazy but apparently Fallen Heir is just the beginning of the crazy, wild ride that is the Royals series. Buckle up kids, I have a feeling Easton is going to ruin us more than Reed did.
Couple Chemistry Rating: 3/5 Shells
Hartley and Easton had a very slow burn start which I usually am all about, but the bickering and craziness didn’t really satisfy my couple chemistry rating. Nonetheless, they definitely have something there and I’m sure it will come full circle in the next book.
Favorite Quotes: “I’m gonna do it.”
“Do what?”
“Kiss you.” -Easton
“Don’t worry. You’re not kissing me. I’m kissing you.” -Hartley
My Rating: 5/5 Shells
